My Rolling Seas
My Rolling Sea My Rolling Sea
Alone I waited Aged I waited
for the sun to rise for the sun to rise
over the Sea of Galilee. over the Sea of Galilee.
Aching feet numbed Aching feet numbed
by cold relief by cold relief
plunged ankle deep plunged ankle deep
in a life-long dream. in a life long gone.
My rolling sea of memory. My rolling sea of memory
pulled from beneath clutched toes.
Alone I saw
glory and awe Alone I saw
line by line glory withdraw
shade by shade. line by line
grain by grain.
Thinking nothing yet
feeling I am touching Thinking nothing yet
the face of peace feeling I am touching
in the silence a cold wave of silence
between the waves. pass between us.
Cold feet pain differently. Feet have use beyond pain.
