Poetry

such a strange day

what a weird day it was
that day
1. to die like that
2. when the wind pulled the wings
off flocks of geese
3. and traffic stopped to watch
4. as the geese fell belly-up
from the sky
like airplanes
someone spoke of Revelation
and I found that odd
but, I suppose, might as well
on such a strange day
1. the locusts all carried baby scorpions
2. John the Baptist
put his head on backward
3. Christ shook his head and turned his horse away
